The Shop at Strood Green has over twenty local producers and the managers and committee are always on the hunt for more.

Here are some details of just a few of our local producers. It's always worth having a look at their websites for background information. They are all passionate about their products:

We stock delicious ice-cream from St Joans Farm, in Leigh, only two miles from the shop. Caroline delivers the ice cream personally and can often be seen stocking up the freezer in the shop! - www.saintjoansfarm.com

High Weald Dairy near Horsted Keynes, East Sussex have an excellent website for cheese enthusiasts - www.highwealddairy.co.uk (visit it for some great video information about how they make their wonderful cheeses, like Ashdown Foresters). Check out their impressive list of no less than six International Cheese Awards for 2010! 

Norbury Park Farm, Mickleham, Dorking supplies us with the wonderful Norbury Blue and Dirty Vicar (which is Norbury Farm's version of the famous Stinking Bishop)  -  www.norburyblue.com

Bookham and Harrison's wonderful Sussex Charmer & their Italian-style "Not Just A Pasta" cheese, plus Bookham's ever-popular South Downs butter, are all from West Sussex - www.bookhams.com

We also stock fabulous cheeses from Alsop & Walker in Mayfield, East Sussex.

Sondes Place Farm supplies us with free-range eggs from Surrey Blue and Surrey Brown hens - www.sondesplacefarm.com

We also believe we have some of the nicest juices to be found in the South-East. Chegworth Valley juices, with a wide range of lovely flavours, have been a consistent hit in the shop - www.chegworthvalley.com

And how wonderful to be able to stock sunflower seed oilproduced less than 20 miles away!  In Partridge Green, West Sussex, Sussex Gold are producing award-winning oils, and their first sunflower crop was in 2007. Kokoh chocolate bars are handmade in Ewhurst, Surrey. These fine chocolate bars include exotic flavours such as Chilli and Lime, Sicilian Orange, and Merryberry. The chocolate is of the highest quality and as it melts very slowly in your mouth you only need a little bit at a time - honest!

We are also now stocking smoked garlic from Besmoke, Henfield, West Sussex. Their big fat juicy smoked garlic bulbs add a lovely flavour to many dishes and once you've had a sniff of these bulbs you'll never buy boring old supermarket garlic again! - www.besmoke.com
