The management committee and staff

The Shop at Strood Green is run by a committee of volunteers. Many other people in the local area have worked hard to ensure the shop has been fitted out to a high standard, and has opened on time and on budget. There are already several people who work on a voluntary basis within the shop and in supportive roles in the background. One of the original committee members, Jane Holmes, put herself forward in January 2009 for the manager's role, and because of her outstanding customer service background, local knowledge and her total commitment to the project, it was unanimously agreed she was the best candidate to run the shop. She has now been joined by a second manager, Christine Nolan, who has brought to the project a fantastic amount of catering experience. The two managers cover the almost-80 hours the shop is open, and are ably assisted by four part-time members of staff and a team of volunteers.

We are a registered Industrial and Provident Society and the management committee (maximum eight members) is appointed annually at its AGM by the shareholders of the Association (currently numbering approx 450).

The current committee is as follows:

Jo Songhurst, Secretary

Chris Trodd

Fiona Patteson-Knight

David Klamm

Jane Holmes

Darren Flashman

Will Clemson

Sarah Giblin

This committee was formally appointed at SGSA's second AGM on 17 June 2010 by the shareholder vote.
